Background:

In response to the increasing demand for skilled caregivers, faith Bangladesh Institute of Allied Health Professionals is pleased to announce a 3-month comprehensive course on Caregiving for Persons with Special Needs, approved by the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA). This course is designed to equip participants with essential caregiving techniques, offering a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience.

Course Description and Objective:

The course is aimed at developing proficient caregivers who can provide high-quality care to individuals with special needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Participants will learn about managing physical, emotional, and developmental challenges while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. The curriculum emphasizes practical caregiving skills, understanding disabilities, and creating customized care plans to cater to individual needs.

Expected Outcome:

Upon completing the course, participants will be equipped to deliver compassionate and professional care for individuals with special needs. They will acquire skills to manage daily living activities, provide emotional support, and ensure effective communication with families and healthcare providers. Course Outline:

• Introduction to Special Needs Caregiving:

  • Orientation to mental retardation & autism spectrum disorders and associated problems.
  • Understanding and addressing behavioral, social, and emotional challenges.

• Caregiving Skills:

  • Providing personalized care and support for individuals with special needs.
  • Supporting clients through daily living activities, health management, and hygiene.

• Maternity and Neonatal Care:

  • Providing specialized care during pregnancy, maternity, and neonatal stages.

• Social and Recreational Support:

  • Performing social and recreational activities to enhance client engagement and quality of life.

• Professional Development:

  • Practicing negotiation skills and demonstrating work values in caregiving settings.
  • Leading small teams and working collaboratively with families and professionals.

• Practical Sessions and Hands-On Training:

  • Real-life caregiving scenarios and hands-on training in caregiving tasks.

• Duration: 3 months
• Schedule: Monday to Friday (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
